Lead Designer

The Head for the Hills Georgetown Craft Beverage Festival, previously known as the Georgetown Craft Beer Festival, is an annual celebration of craft beverages held in Georgetown. In 2023, the festival underwent a rebranding effort to refresh its image and appeal to a wider and younger audience.

What I did

To anchor the festival’s rebrand, I created George, a charismatic, witty, and adventurous mascot designed to personify the spirit of Head for the Hills. I wanted to move away from traditional festival branding and introduce a friendly, relatable personality that could connect directly with the community and reflect the founders' humour. As the centerpiece of the marketing campaign, George brought a fresh, youthful energy to the event. By giving the festival a memorable face, the campaign successfully expanded demographic reach, attracted a new audience, and boosted overall attendance while strengthening community connections.
